HAZWOPER Training Course

HAZWOPER 1st Responder Awareness Level - 4-Hour Course

This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites and is designed to protect personnel working at hazardous sites. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.

HAZWOPER 8-Hour Refresher Course

All emergency response employees, with the exception of skilled support personnel, are required to have annual refresher training of sufficient duration and content to maintain their competencies. This 8-hour refresher course satisfies the annual training requirements. Current (un-expired) proof of prior certification must be submitted before course registration.

The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) rule regulates emergency response to hazardous substances. Section 1910.120 (q) of the rule requires employers whose employees are engaged in emergency response to develop and implement an emergency plan. This plan must include compliance with training requirements for each employee involved.



HAZWOPER 24-Hour Course

This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. This course, while identifying different types of hazards, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.

Note: Workers must have 24 hours of initial training and one day of supervised field experience before they are allowed to enter the site. The one-day field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student's employer or potential employer.




HAZWOPER 40-Hour Course

This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Topics include protection against hazardous chemicals, elimination of hazardous chemicals, safety of workers and the environment, and OSHA regulations. This course covers topics included in 29 CFR 1910.120 (e). Please note that eight hours of hands-on training is required for the 40 hour Hazwoper course. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the students' employer or potential employee.

Note: Trainees must have additional hands-on training in the donning, doffing, and use of the Personal Protective Equipment required for their jobsite(s) in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120.

Workers must have 40 hrs of initial training before they may enter the site and at least three days of actual field experience under a trained, seasoned supervisor. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the student employer or potential employer.
