What To Wear:
Classroom sessions are casual but tasteful dress. Fire fighting field days, students must wear long pants, a shirt and socks. Closed toed shoes such as tennis shoes or boots are required. Flip flops, sandals or other open toed shoes are not allowed. Coveralls/boiler suits are recommended. Jewelry including rings watches and necklaces are highly discouraged. Students should leave them at home on fire fighting days as we cannot ensure the safety of these items. During rescue boat or water survival training, students should bring a bathing suit, towel and a change of clothing. What to Bring to Class: A pen, pencil and note paper. All other materials will be provided. Course Hours: Course hours are generally 08:00 to 17:00 unless otherwise noted. Most of our course hours and content are regulated by the flag state administration. Students must attend all class room and field portions of a course to receive a certificate. Directions: Please click here for directions Lunch There are a number of restaurants available for lunch in the near area. There is also a call in service for lunch delivery to our facility. Why do I have to Provide Identification: STCW-95 regulations and flag state administrations require that we keep a copy of your official government issued identification on file. Examples include a passport or drivers license. You must present this identification on the first day of the course along with your payment. Sea Time Requirements: Certain courses have sea time requirements. These requirements are the policies of the flag state administration. Only official sea time letters or Mariners discharge papers are acceptable forms of sea time. Course Records: Course records are kept on file for a minimum of 7 years. Should you lose your certificate a certified copy can be produced for you at a nominal fee. |
